“Everyone is patient and helps me to learn”

My name is Andy, I was told about Hamlet and thought they were doing some great work providing opportunities for people with a disability. I have an acquired brain injury that occurred in 1998 when I was hit by a concrete truck crossing the road. 

My recovery was a long journey. I was in a coma and then when I woke up I had to learn to walk again and start from scratch. 

I have been training at Hamlet for exactly a year now and am learning how to take orders and improve to a point that I will be able to get work in a restaurant or café. 

I like working with the people training at Hamlet because everyone is patient and helps me to learn and the customers are all very friendly. 

I hope I have shared with you a little of myself and think that Hamlet is a unique training environment for people with a disability to gain more skills for work.
