Our Vision
An inclusive Tasmania where everyone’s contribution is valued

Since opening our doors in 2016, Hamlet has provided over 38,000 hours of work experience to over 700 Tasmanians.

With the launch of Hamlet Catering Co in 2019, we now have the opportunity to double our work experience offerings as we look towards the future.

We asked our participants to tell us about their journey and what they have learnt:

• 100% Gained job skills

• 82% Increased their confidence

• 64% Made friends

• 64% Gained references for their resume

• 55% Feel more independent

• 27% Improved their English language skills

With a 96% attendance rate in 2020, it’s clear that our participants enjoy and value their time at Hamlet as much as we value working alongside them.

Not only do participants add important job skills to their resume, over 80% said their confidence levels rose considerably. Many also left with new friends, the ability to strike up conversations, and with greater general knowledge of the local community and its culture.
